With a seasonally chosen passage for each day between Advent and Ash Wednesday, a thoughtful perceptive commentary on the Scripture, a QR code to a vocal or choral piece of music appropriate for the day, and a concluding prayer from a past saint or a current "sinner" provides the primary purpose of this book, to have a daily encounter with the Lord and to hear his voice.

May these daily devotionals enable us to have a greater awareness of the sacred nature of our walk with Jesus as he lives in and through us during our days on this earth until we see him face-to-face. Advent to Ashes is the first of four volumes that will cover the entire Christian Year.

The insights of many commentators have helped me, but none more than the devotionals of Dan Sharp. His insights have enriched my relationship with the Lord and guided my walk in following Jesus for 70 of these 92 years.
