Meyers' book seeks to show how the Bible itself answers the "problem" of Israel and the land of Palestine, and why the modern nation-state of Israel is not the "chosen people" of God. By emphasizing the fulfillment of promises to Israel in Jesus Christ, the Bible also avoids spiritualizing the promises to Israel as though to claim the Church is the "true" or "spiritual" Israel. Rather, because Jesus inherited all the world (including Palestine) as His possession, the world belongs to Him and His chosen people-the Church-forever.
